CHINT Turkey transferred 42,820 I-REC certificates to Vodafone Turkey. This overseas green certificate delivery is another achievement of CHINT in exploring the overseas energy trading field by opening up the carbon asset management mode from project development, construction, operation to carbon neutral offset.
The International Renewable Energy Certification (I-REC) is an internationally recognized standard for recording renewable energy consumption. As the certificate is accepted and recognized by carbon disclosure organizations, it is purchased by world-renowned companies to offset their own non-green power consumption emissions.
In recent years, CHINT has deepened its efforts in the global clean energy market and accelerated the layout of overseas markets. Since 2015, when CHINT Turkey was established, it has invested a total of 72 MW in local PV power generation projects, with an annual power generation capacity of over 110 million kWh.
Currently, CHINT Turkey has registered 72MWp of PV power projects in the I-REC database and will obtain approximately 90,000 certificates in 2021. Through this transaction, 42,820 of these I-REC certificates have been transferred to Vodafone Turkey to help Vodafone achieve its corporate carbon reduction commitment and accelerate the carbon neutral process of its organization.
