CHINT Successively Wins Greek Transformer Project

Recently, CHINT has successfully secured two significant transformer projects in Greece: the METON transformer project, valued at approximately 14 million euros, and the HEDNO transformer project, with a contract value of roughly 17 million euros.

The METON transformer project, a new energy power station developer project, is a joint venture between Germany’s New Energy Company and the Greek Electricity Authority. CHINT’s supply scope for this project includes two 400kV 340MVA split transformers and four 150kV main transformers. Because the project is led by a German developer, CHINT faced stiff competition from local German electrical brands.

Greece the METON transformer project

Over the project’s eight-month duration, competitors leveraged their global transformer manufacturing resources to vie with CHINT. Nevertheless, through seamless collaboration between local Greek partners and the headquarters team, CHINT refined their quotation 21 times.

Ultimately, CHINT’s blend of professional and rapid design, efficient product delivery timelines, reasonable pricing, and dependable localized after-sales services won the client’s approval.

The second project, the HEDNO transformer project, includes the supply of 18 150kV 50MVA main transformers, with the Greek Distribution Company, HEDNO, as the owner. This traditional power bureau bidding project spanned ten months.

Thanks to the support of local Greek partners and the headquarters team, CHINT devised a bidding strategy encapsulating high technical standards, cost-effectiveness, and feasibility.

The successful acquisition of two significant transformer projects in the Greek market may seem coincidental for CHINT. However, it’s a testament to their high-quality products, experienced and savvy team, and unwavering spirit when faced with challenges. This winning combination turns the occasional into the inevitable in overseas market competition.
