CHINT Signed New Agreement on the Silk Road Escort Conference

Recently, the Silk Road Escort – African Economic and Trade Cooperation Zones and Zhejiang Enterprises Matchmaking Conference was held in Hangzhou. During the conference, CHINT Global signed a strategic agreement with China-Africa Teda Investment Co., LTD., a step forward in its overseas development.

By signing this agreement, both parties will, under the guidance of the national policy of the Belt and Road Initiative, carry out in-depth cooperation on overseas industrial parks and drive mutual development.

At the signing ceremony, Cheng Zhihui, Assistant to the President of CHINT Global and General Manager of West Asia and Africa, signed the strategic agreement with the representatives from the Cooperation Zones. The agreement covers cooperations in the construction and renovation of intelligent industrial parks, electric new energy and other fields, bringing advanced manufacturing projects overseas.

“In recent years, we have continued to deploy in countries like Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and the middle east in Africa, we have successively established subsidiaries, factories, warehouses, and operation and maintenance centers.

We will build in-depth localization capabilities and provide one-stop smart energy solutions to the local people, improving the local manufacturing level and industrial integrity, and helping local employment and economic development. The signing of the agreement will better facilitate our participation in the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative,” said Cheng Zhihui.

Globally, CHINT has established partnership of different levels with more than 80 percent of countries along the Belt and Road. As the intersection point of CHINT Global in Europe, Asia and Africa, CHINT Egypt takes root in the local market by building its business landscape based on low-voltage, photovoltaic and power distribution products as well as logistics and establishing an organizational structure that includes after-sales center, logistics center, local manufacturing and local subsidiaries.

Moreover, CHINT Egypt has participated in the construction of one of the world’s largest photovoltaic power stations, the “National Name Card” of Egypt – Benban photovoltaic power station, and it also helped the construction of the “Three New Cities” in Egypt, the “10th of Ramadan City Railway Project” and other livelihood projects.

Saudi Arabia is an important landmark country of the Belt and Road Initiative and one of CHINT Global’s major overseas markets for more than a decade. In 2023, CHINT Global established a joint venture with Ajlan&Bros Holding Group, a local enterprise, to drive the localization of electrical equipment manufacturing and promote social and economic development in Saudi Arabia.

The “Silk Road Escort – African Economic and Trade Cooperation Zones and Zhejiang Enterprises Matchmaking Conference” was co-sponsored by China-Egypt · Teda Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, Nigeria Lekki Free Trade Zone and China-Benin Economic and Trade Development Center under the guidance of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and hosted by Zhejiang Outbound Investment Enterprises Association.

The conference aims to implement the “Eight Major Initiatives” of China-Africa cooperation and promote and facilitate enterprises’ participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.
