On December 1, four 220kV transformers supplied by CHINT for khimti substation of Nepal Electricity Authority were successfully loaded and shipped to Shanghai port. It is expected to arrive at the site of Nepal station in 8 weeks to start its 30-year power service and contribute to the construction of local power infrastructure.
The design stage of the project coincided with the outbreak of the local epidemic. With the advantages of CHINT Global’s overseas layout and supply chain, the CHINT AP team communicated closely with customers, CHINT customer success centre and local teams, deeply understand customers’ needs and pain points, provided customers with comparison and selection proposals of autotransformer and power transformer, offered personalized component customization services, and finally jointly determined the autotransformer design scheme. Customers highly recognized CHINT’s professional and technical ability and rapid response service.
In October, under the joint inspection of online customers and DEKRA, a well-known third-party professional certification organization, 4 sets 220kV transformers successfully passed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at one time in CHINT transformer test station (CNAS certification). CHINT’s advanced test equipment, perfect test plan and professional test engineers have won unanimous praise from customers and DEKRA.
Nepal mainly relies on hydropower, but due to the insufficient construction of hydropower stations, the power supply is still very tight, and a large number of remote areas in the country are still unable to get electricity. Especially in winter, the power shortage in Nepal is very serious.
As a smart energy solutions provider, CHINT has entered the Nepal market since 2010 to carry out local power project construction and continue to contribute to the shortage of local electricity.
