On September 20, 2024, Zhejiang CHINT Electrics Co., Ltd. (CHINT Electrics) successfully passed the Social Accountability 8000 (SA8000) certification. Leverage Limited carried out the certification. Nine of its internal employees hold SA8000 Social Accountability Management System internal auditor certificates. The results of the audit showed that CHINT Electrics complied with the SA8000:2014 standard. The successful passing of this certification is a demonstration of CHINT Electrics’ long-term practice of social responsibility management performance, marking the establishment of CHINT Electrics’ internal perfect social responsibility management system, which helps CHINT Electrics to carry out more in-depth social responsibility systematic management, to bravely undertake social responsibility, constantly and better meet customer needs, and promote the sustainable development of employees, communities and other enterprises inside and outside.
SA8000, as the world’s first international standard on ethics, is also the world’s first international standard on social responsibility for third-party certification, auditing nine elements including “child labor, forced labor, health and safety, freedom of association and collective bargaining, discrimination, disciplinary measures, working hours, labor compensation, and management systems.” It aims to improve the working conditions of workers around the world through responsible sourcing activities, ultimately leading to fair and decent work. At present, the global SA8000 certification involves 53 countries, 70 industries, and 5,471 certified enterprises.
