CHINT Global, a renowned provider of smart energy solutions, demonstrates its commitment to global inclusivity and community development through its “Lighting the Way this Ramadan” campaign.
This multinational initiative celebrated the holy month of Ramadan by bringing together employees from six countries – UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Algeria. It was a testament to the global inclusivity of CHINT Global, fostering a sense of belonging and unity among its diverse workforce.
Embracing Diversity and Cultural Inclusivity
The “Lighting the Way” campaign served as a unifying force, transcending borders and fostering a deep appreciation for multiculturalism. With nearly 100 employees participating, CHINT Global showcased its dedication to embracing diverse cultures and practices while simultaneously extending a helping hand to communities in need.
“At CHINT Global, we believe in the power of unity and compassion,” said Thomas Cheng, WAA General Manager of CHINT Global. “Ramadan represents a time of reflection, generosity, and community-building. Our ‘Lighting the Way’ initiative was crafted to resonate with these values, aiming to brighten lives and instill hope across communities by harnessing our collective strength and compassion.”
Impacting Communities Through Sustainable Solutions
The campaign’s impact was not just immediate, but also laid the groundwork for sustainable community development. The efforts ranged from the distribution of meal boxes and daily necessities to the installation of off-grid photovoltaic systems. These acts of kindness were a beacon of hope, promising a brighter future for the communities.
CHINT Indonesia linked up with partners to achieve multi-regional collaboration and went into communities to deliver a Ramadan gift box to local people.
Also breaking boundaries and exploring forward is the CHINT Malaysia team. In order to truly light the way this Ramadan and “making electric energy more convenient”, CHINT Malaysia’s team drove and hiked to install off-grid photovoltaic systems in the homes of villagers deep in the forest, lighting up the lives of villagers with green energy.
Forging Partnerships for Long-Term Impact
CHINT Global collaborated with local embassies, consulates, government agencies, charities, and educational institutions to maximize the campaign’s reach and effectiveness. This innovative approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR) paved the way for long-term, sustainable solutions.
In Egypt, CHINT Egypt partnered with the Orman Charity Association to provide meal boxes for the entire month of Ramadan, reaching far-reaching local communities. The event garnered significant attention, with over 200 attendees, including representatives from the Egyptian government, Chinese-funded enterprises, donors, and Chinese and Egyptian media.
In Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, CHINT collaborated with local charity organizations to deliver Ramadan food boxes to local workers and needy families. This initiative is our tribute to recognizing their invaluable contributions to the well-being of our society.
“Let’s embrace compassion and unity this Ramadan, illuminating pathways for positive change in our community. Together, we’re lighting the way this Ramadan,” stated Leon Li, Regional Director GCC, CHINT Global.
In Algeria, Mr. Oubaida Lezoul, deputy sales director of CHINT Algeria, accepted an interview from the national channel TV5 where he introduced this global campaign and the whole program of charitable and social action, whether through donations for the poor or donations of electrical products to universities.
Embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Principles
“Lighting the Way this Ramadan” is more than a campaign; it’s a testament to CHINT Global’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and its ambition to foster global inclusivity. By mobilizing over 2,000 local partners and aiding in the construction of more than one million rooftop photovoltaic power stations, CHINT is actively contributing to the global transition towards a more sustainable and equitable future.
As Ramadan comes to a close, CHINT Global reiterates its commitment to lighting up lives and nurturing the seeds of compassion, unity, and sustainability worldwide.
