As a pivotal nation in Europe, known as the “Key to the Balkans,” Serbia is experiencing a resurgence of growth under the Belt and Road Initiative. Recent visits by national leaders have brought attention to key topics such as joint construction of the Belt and Road, green development, and infrastructure.
In this dynamic environment, CHINT Global has been committed to providing electrical equipment for Serbia’s national power system, contributing to a sustainable future for the country.
Delivered Serbia's Largest Single-Capacity Solar Project
In July 2023, CHINT Global won the bid for Power China’s Saraorci 13.86MWp PVPP Project in Serbia. We are supplying a complete set of high-voltage electrical equipment for the project’s 35kV photovoltaic power station, including 35kV prefabricated substations, 35kV dry-type power transformer, 35kV high-voltage switchgear, and 35kV oil-immersed power transformer. The project is set to be connected to the grid and begin power generation by the end of May 2024.
Chinese enterprises are rapidly expanding globally, showcasing the prowess of Chinese manufacturing in international projects. In this cooperation, CHINT Global has demonstrated remarkable capabilities:
Short delivery period:The owner’s tight timeline posed a challenge. Thanks to our integrated production, research, and sales capabilities, we completed contract signing, plan confirmation, design, equipment production, and shipment within just three months.
Special Certification Requirements:We organized multiple evaluations and tests, successfully achieving CE certification for the dry-type transformer to meet project needs.

The Project is currently the largest single-capacity solar project in Serbia. It will inject new green power into Serbia’s electricity supply, bringing significant environmental benefits to the country.

Proven Reliability with Zero-Fault Operation
In 2015, CHINT Global’s European team successfully delivered the EMS 400kV 400MVA autotransformer project for Serbia’s national grid EMS. These large-capacity transformers have been operating fault-free for nearly 10 years, showcasing CHINT’s advanced manufacturing capabilities.
This reliability has earned EMS’s continued trust. Since 2015, CHINT has supplied EMS with additional power transformers, enhancing the local power infrastructure and meeting residents’ electricity needs.
In our ongoing cooperation with EMS, we continuously refine our capabilities to gain more industry opportunities:
Strong Technical Response: Fully meeting customers’ special requirements
Localized Service: Providing technical support and comprehensive operation and maintenance guarantees through local agents
Fast Delivery: Exceeding the owner’s expected delivery time by 50%
Our rapid capability enhancements have yielded significant results. This year, we partnered with the local subsidiary of a leading Chinese mining company to supply 400kV 300MVA power transformers for local mining operations.
Due to the concentration of mining areas in the Bor region and the frequent dust and salt spray weather, our “Super Transformers” have successfully passed rigorous environmental and performance tests, including those for corrosion resistance, pollution resistance, and short-circuit resistance, and are ready for deployment in Serbia.
These collaborations are more than business successes for CHINT Global; they are testaments to the deep friendship between China and Serbia. We believe that CHINT’s products and services will not only meet Serbia’s power needs but also enhance China-Serbia friendship and economic cooperation.
China and Serbia share a renowned “ironclad friendship.” Pragmatism underpins our cooperation. Guided by this pragmatic spirit, CHINT Global is continuously exploring and cultivating opportunities in the Balkans, delivering smart, clean energy solutions to illuminate the green, beautiful lives of local people.
