From December 23rd to 24th, 2023, the national new product technology appraisal meeting for CHINT Electric independently developed series of 10kV to 750kV natural ester insulated oil transformers was grandly held in Shanghai.
Nearly a hundred well-known experts and scholars from the transformer industry in China, representing organizations like the State Grid, Southern Power Grid, Inner Mongolia Power, China Electric Power Research Institute, China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, authoritative domestic transformer testing agencies, Datang Power Generation, and Chongqing University, attended the event.
The China Electricity Council organized the appraisal meeting. Eminent experts like Academician Chen Weijiang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Academician Qiu Aici of the Chinese Academy of Engineering served as chairpersons. A representative from the China Electricity Council presided over the meeting agenda.
Firstly, Huang Zhiquang, Technical Director of Power Transformers at CHINT Electric, introduced the overall situation of CHINT Electric and its transformer industry sector. He highlighted CHINT Electric’s capabilities in designing and manufacturing transformers ranging from 10kV to 1000kV, with their products being exported to 114 countries and regions. He also presented CHINT’s market achievements and a series of research results in natural ester-insulated oil transformers over the years.
Then, Huang Hua, Deputy Director of the Transformer Research Institute at CHINT Electric’s Technical Research Academy, reported to the appraisal meeting the main technical features, innovation points, advancements, and key technologies of these six natural ester-insulated oil transformers, and discussed future key technologies in this field.
The meeting proceeded with a session for expert consultation and project company defense. The appraisal committee and attending experts asked over 60 questions concerning various aspects like R&D design, manufacturing processes, and operation maintenance of natural ester-insulated oil power transformers. Technical representatives from CHINT Electric provided detailed explanations.
Finally, after thorough discussion, the appraisal committee reached a unanimous conclusion: the comprehensive technical performance of four new products, including the 10kV natural ester insulated oil distribution transformer, the 35kV synthetic ester insulated oil power transformer, the 110kV natural ester insulated oil power transformer, and the 220kV natural ester insulated oil power transformer, has achieved an international advanced level. The 500kV and 750kV natural ester insulated oil power transformers have reached an international leading level!
The research and application of natural ester-insulated oil power transformers are among the important solutions for implementing the dual carbon policy in the electric power system field.
At this new product technology appraisal meeting, CHINT Electric objectively demonstrated to industry experts the key technologies related to natural ester insulated oil transformers, such as multi-physics field simulation technology based on electromagnetic, fluid, and heat transfer couplings, high-precision multi-channel fiber optic temperature measurement technology, high overload capacity based on high-temperature insulation systems, compact design implementation, and high short-circuit resistance capabilities.
This fully showcased CHINT Electric’s advanced research results and leading position in the niche field of natural ester insulated oil power transformers.
