According to the Panamanian newspaper “La Estrella,” approximately 81% of Panama’s total electricity generation in 2021 came from renewable energy sources, a significant increase from less than 5% in 2013.
The Panamanian government has actively promoted the development of renewable energy and the adoption of photovoltaic technology to achieve energy independence and security. Data from the Inter-American Development Bank shows that Panama’s average annual share of renewable energy generation over the past four years is 69%, higher than the Latin American average.
In an effort to promote the localization and upgrading of the photovoltaic industry, Chint, in collaboration with local distributor ELECTRISA, organized a photovoltaic technology training event in Panama this summer, receiving positive feedback from local customers.
The implementation of a new comprehensive development plan for the power sector will not only help achieve the carbon neutrality target by 2050 but also gradually reduce electricity costs for residents and businesses.
Themed “Efficient Photovoltaics, Green Future,” this conference received strong support from customers in the Latin American region, with representatives from over 30 local photovoltaic installation companies participating in the training.
During the technical training session, Andrés Tie, the Sales Representive for the Panama region, shared the development history of CHINT in the Panamanian market, photovoltaic project cases, and the company’s future strategic layout for the coming years.
Local technical engineer Frederick provided detailed explanations and demonstrations of the application of distributed photovoltaic products, covering operating principles, application scenarios, and showcasing product samples. The conference also featured displays of inverters, photovoltaic modules, and combiner boxes.
Customers had the opportunity to interact with the engineers, closely examine photovoltaic products, and engage in lively discussions. Many customers expressed their appreciation for the friendly and intuitive product experience during the training, which they found helpful and significant.
“This year marks the tenth year of our collaboration with CHINT. Throughout these years, CHINT has maintained a close and friendly relationship with us, providing significant help and support to distributors. CHINT’s reliable product quality and excellent after-sales service make us more confident that our cooperation will continue to improve,” commented Mr. MIGUEL ANGEL from ELECTRISA, the collaborating distributor, during the conference.
CHINT awarded each participating photovoltaic installation company customer with the "Authorised installer of CHINT PV systems" certificate.
Backed by technology leadership, CHINT PV continues to expand its business in Panama, where the installed PV capacity has exceeded 1MW in 2022 alone. Over the years, CHINT has made significant efforts in the Latin American market, actively establishing subsidiaries and overseas warehouses, while continuously improving local after-sales services to meet customer demands through localized service.
