Basic Introduction of United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)
UNGC is part of the United Nations Secretariat, headquartered in New York, and is the world's largest international organization to promote corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. In 2004, UNGC published “Who Cares Wins”, a report that first introduced the concept of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and together with 20 financial institutions, gave recommendations to the financial industry to better apply ESG in the areas of analytics, asset management and securities trading. In the past 20 years, UNGC has been committed to promoting the concept and principles of ESG and helping companies in all countries to embark on a path of sustainable development, in line with its mission of "Uniting Global Businesses for a Better World".
